A partir du 19° siècle, les médailles et jetons frappés par la Monnaie de Paris portent un poinçon sur la tranche pour garantir leur titre en métal précieux. Ce poinçon devient rapidement une marque de fabriquant et s’étend au métaux communs : cuivre, bronze… Il est important de les connaître car cela permet de définir l’époque de la frappe.

All items are unconditionally guaranteed authentic, genuine and as described. We do not sell copies or reproductions. For tokens (jettons) or medals, it may be later restrikes which means they were officially struck with the original dies. In such a case, it is said so in the ad: «restrike» or «later issue»…

Payment

Shipping
